Today I did half of my course at Griffith (knee still isn’t ready for the big hill yet) and here is a fun animation where you can see all of the stats from my ride! Such a cool geeky, fit thing. haha

When I moved to LA with dreams of becoming an director, my very first job came from a close friend of mine Richard “Steelo” Vazquez. It in fact, was the only job I had lined up when I moved here in 2006. Steelo is one of the worlds best B-Boys, and an amazingly positive, fun and loud, I mean REALLY LOUD human being. He wanted to put out a Solo DVD of his career as a dancer and B-Boy and got me to edit it together.

We worked hard for a few months while he was on and off tour with Gwen Stefani, and ended up with an awesome product, that you can even buy on ebay now!! haha.

In June 2011, Steelo suffered a brain aneurysm while practicing. There is an entire story of what happened next, and in October of 2011, I documented some of it for my dear friend.

In addition MAKE SURE TO WATCH STEELO ON DANCING WITH THE STARS TUESDAY MAY 1ST!! He is going to perform with the Groovaloos and tell a bit of his story.

Steelo always inspired me before this all happened, and continues to inspire me every day! I encourage you to repost and share his story!

Everyone was blown away by the Tupac Hologram at Cochella this year. And truth be told, if I was in that crowd I would of lost my sh!t.

For curious minds … this is how they did it.

They used a device called an Musion Eyeliner. Basically what they do is hang a thin screen 45 degrees towards the audience (imagine it shooting out towards the audience and upwards) and then project images onto that screen. You then project images onto the screen from above so the image hits the screen (and the stage floor which the audience can’t see) and then it appears as if there is an image floating around on the stage!

A company digitally recreated Tupac from past performances and CGI. But I must say, and all and all pretty fantastic and surreal effect that I wish I was there to witness live.

Here’s a video of the tupac performance, and one of some cool interactive stuff you can do with the Musion Eyeliner.

Jeremy Rose (zodiac) produced What You Need, The Party (First half of Party & After Party), The Morning and Loft Music for The Weeknd. Coincidentally all my favorite tracks off of House Of Balloons.

According to the Vice Magazine interview with Jeremy, it was Jeremy’s idea to create and RnB act that should “talk about, fuckin’ and getting too high and trying to fuck bitches and it not working out.”

One thing I found quite interesting that it was Jeremy’s concept to sing about getting f^$%ed up, and they were originally a duo and called themselves The Weekend.

Here is the original beat to What You Need that was made years before Abel sang on it.

Here is the article that interview:

http://www.vice.com/read/how-the-producer-of-the-weeknds-breakout-tracks-got-majorly-screwed

And while you’re at it, might as well watch the video I created for the freshest Jeremy Rose / Abel track:
